In her piece Gorgo Ute Wassermann´s voice is creating a strange acoustic planet, an imaginary ecosystem. Electronically sounding throat bass-drones, yodeled tremolos, percussive loops, chirping glissandos, multiphonic screams: her superhuman and extreme vocals produce resonant phenomena in her body and in space. Her voice shimmers between electronic, inorganic, animal and human sound qualities. Our perception of the human voice is radically questioned. In addition she masks her voice with various bird whistles and resonant objects. The result is a hybrid voice instrument with iridescent sound colours.
